Sunmi was born on May 2, 1992, in Iksan, South Korea. She got big as part of Wonder Girls, one of the top K-pop girl groups in the late 2000s. She left in 2010 to focus on school, then came back solo in 2013. Hits like “24 Hours” and “Gashina” made her a major name in K-pop on her own.
