Meet Edyta Śliwińska, born May 6, 1981, in Warsaw, Poland. She’s a pro ballroom dancer and choreographer who moved to the U.S. in 2000.

She co-started Genesis DanceSport studios in San Francisco and L.A., and snagged five U.S. National Latin Finalist spots. Edyta was on all first ten seasons of Dancing with the Stars (2005–2010), the only female pro to pull that off, with solid runs like 3rd in Season 3 with Joey Lawrence and 2nd in Season 6 with Jason Taylor. She came back in Season 22 (2016) with Geraldo Rivera. Off the dance floor, she tied the knot with pro dancer Alec Mazo on September 1, 2007, and they’ve got two kids: Michael (born 2014) and Leia (born 2017). She’s been in U.S. commercials, popped up on CSI: NY, and dropped some instructional dance DVDs with her husband.
